Yum! It’s summer and peaches are very much in season around San Luis Obispo. I made this delicious cheese board this morning and decided to share the recipe with you.
After I took a morning walk around town, where I saw a variety of awesome garage sales down Broad Street, I came home and was super hungry for something light, refreshing, and with some healthy protein. Here’s what I came up with:
Goat Cheese and Peaches with Honey
1 ripe peach, diced and pitted
1 banana, sliced
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp Celtic Sea Salt
1/2 tsp Dried Thyme
Pinch ground cinnamon
1/4 cup Goat Cheese
Here’s some shots from my walk down Broad Street this morning! It was such a beautiful, foggy morning.
I stopped in for a quick donut at SLO Donut Company, they have such delicious and always fresh donuts.
I continued down Broad Street towards downtown and came across a few awesome garage sales!
The ladies who live on this block host a garage sale usually once per month. They advertise their sales on Craigslist and Facebook, and I also heard you can get on their email list for upcoming sales.
These ladies are popular! Here’s some more of what they were offering up today.
How interesting is this little vintage jewelry hanger with hands!
I loved this little table of treasures
And how often do you have the chance to purchase skulls?!
I also saw some super cute houses which I just love snapping pictures of. SLO has so many super cute homes and Broad Street is full of them. I really love looking at their unique and quaint entrances which often times have vines, flowers, and white picket fences. Do you see the guard dog?
Don’t you just want to kick up your feet and enjoy your morning coffee on this red porch bench?
I love this simple and elegant entrance with an all-white paint exterior.
This is also another thing I love about SLO, how the community gets involved when your cat is lost or you need a roommate.
This box is part of the Utility Box Art Program around town. How cute is this fish painting?
Did you know if you go downtown at 9am on a Saturday morning you can walk around and have the whole sidewalk to yourself?
I love Scout Coffee! Their downtown shop is super cute, is beautifully decorated and they serve delicious mochas and cappuccinos with housemade pastries. They are opening a second Scout Coffee location off Foothill very soon (stay posted for an exclusive post on Scout Coffee’s new location!)
Heading home! Two last pics…I just love this super cute little real estate office, Anderson Commercial. They’ve been in this space for so many years I can’t even remember what was there before. Don’t you just want to go inside?
The final part of my morning stroll was getting to enjoy this beautiful, tree lined walkway. Doesn’t this just represent the beauty that is the city of SLO so well?
